Ronin:
Mom and the baby went to the Montshire museum. This is Ro Ro showing his best three legged bandit. He ran his Mama around pretty aggressively for a few hours.
"Mr. Watson- come here - I want to see you." Ronin got to reenact the first phone call... or more like he yelled one of his favorite potty words: "poo poo, underpants , or pen!$." I love that naughty boy.
Charlotte and Olivia:
Mom and Char Char got their nails done at our local Vietnamese nail parlor. They apparently kept fawning over the blond hair and blue eyed little girl and continually told her she was the most beautiful girl they has seen. Glad it did not go to her head - only because there is just no room for any more ego.
Here is some of their handiwork (yes, bad pun intended). Olivia got the same treatment, just not the same picture treatment. Just picture a 10 year old perfect angel and you will have Livy in your mind.
Locke and Patrick:
Mom took Locke to Mt. Cardigan. It is not an easy mountain to get to and not an easy hike in the spring. This is in part because the gate to parking area is closed until Memorial Day so it adds a half mile walk to the hike. Unfortunately, the keys to mom's car fell out while running up the road. They realized this before they started up the mountain. So they spent their time looking for keys. Locke then chose to be the guardian of the keys. That ended the hike, but lead to a nice dinner.
Patrick and mom went indoor rock climbing at what used to be called The Wall. I am sure it has a new name and new owner, but I can't remember it. Adrienne made it up a wall she had never been able to before. The climbing was preceded by sushi, where both mom and Patrick realized that they like octopus. That makes two of them. Blah!
Brett:
Adrienne and I attempted Mt. Cardigan too. Now one thing about Mt. Cardigan and Grantham, as the old saying goes, "you can't get there from here." It takes forever to get there, but we both made it. Still the mountain got the better of us. We got about half way up and encountered a swamp in the middle of the trail. We opted to turn back.
I tried to use the panoramic feature on my iPhone. Here is the result.
After giving up the hike, we drove forever for some good Mexican food which was actually pretty close to our house. We just took the most circuitous route possible. I totally need a flying Delorian or a flying Suburbian.
The Good Bye:
Adrienne had a 6:50 flight. Both boys (camp out) and Olivia (birthday sleep over) were not home that morning. So it was just the little ones that went the airport. Of coures it was a 90 MPH rush. After we dropped off mommy I treated the little ones to breakfast at the Common Man airport diner.
We did get to the airport late, so the goodbyes were very quick. Ro Ro wanted to send his best goodbye via text. This went to Mommy.
The adventures in single-fatherhood have begun. I am sure I will have plenty to include in the blog over the next few months.
